Whoa, Professor Heinkel ! Nothing like a hot cup o’ joe to stay the morning chill, eh?

Presented as a typical vertical panel format this time. Do you as the reader read the caption first, then look at the art, or vice-versa?

After trying the two formats I think I like this format better, it’s more natural. However, it’d be nice to have more space in the panel. So maybe maintain the vertical scheme of the art above the caption, but make the panel itself wider, even taller. Might try it.

An adventure strip I’m toying around with, about some folks who discover another world inside of our own and the stuff that happens.

Nothing new in that concept of course, but I love the notion of the Hollow Earth and it’s possibilities.

Welcome at last to Electromagneto Comics – Where I experiment with publishing web comics, and where you get to see some of the process as well as the results: Actual web comics for public consumption! Woohoo!

In the blog portion I plan to post some of the ramblings, sketches, ideas and such that give a little insight to my [totally unorganized] process of putting together web comics, as I figure it out. That’s the plan anyway.

And, aside from the business of producing comics and posting them, there’s still stuff to do to finish up the site. So, back to work!

Meantime, hope you like what you see here, comments always welcome.

Another Lovely Day #1

The first post of Another Lovely Day, a single panel series engaging in a bit of offbeat humor. Scheduled to be updated on a weekly basis each Monday for the time being.

With this post I’m trying out a different way of presenting a single panel, a horizontal format with the caption in its own panel to the left.

A lot of single panel “strips” typically tend to be vertical formats with the caption below and sometimes a bit of dialog inside the panel. From my unscientific observation, with the vertical layout a person typically looks at the drawing first along with any dialog within, then glances down to read the caption below, then looks again at the drawing. This may repeat. So I wonder how a horizontal layout changes things. How does it mess things up? Or does it?
